DOCdata e-commerce fulfillment provides fine meshed logistics services and personalized distribution for fulfilling orders of e-commerce and retail companies. We handle a variety of products such as small electronic devices, books, CDs, DVDs, videos, games and premiums. Companies offering these products through Internet, mail order and call centers require a distribution partner that is capable of handling a large amount of small orders in a fast and efficient way. Our IT systems make the fulfillment process fully transparent for our clients. On behalf of our clients we handle very large product databases with excellent stock control and ordering procedures. At the same time we have a very efficient sorting system able to process on average 20.000 personalized shipments to individual consumers per day. Our concept is also of interest to companies handling small volumes of high value products.

Large Product Database

Our clients typically offer a very large database of products (containing often more then 500.000 different articles, we can easily handle up to 2,000,000 different products) which are procured from a large range of suppliers. DOCdata e-commerce fulfillment is a partner that can order, receive, store, pick, pack and ship a large amount of different products from a range of suppliers in an efficient and reliable way. A large share of the products is handled via a cross-docking system and does not have to be kept in stock. We use an efficient procedure to handle customer returns making them almost immediately available again for sale.

IT Systems

Our IT systems were developed in-house over a period of more than 15 years. We are very flexible in connecting to the various systems of our clients, be it standard ERP or client specific software. If needed, DOCdata can provide a full back-office system with all required functionality. Orders can be communicated to us on-line or in batches with EDI or FTP protocols. Our system immediately checks the integrity of the order, processes what is in stock and orders the remainder from pre-selected suppliers. Goods are stored according to a dynamic location system. The information on stock levels is synchronized regularly with the web sites. Extensive reporting is possible on stocks, procurement orders, incoming goods, goods flow, outgoing goods, order status, supplier performance, best selling products etc. Alternatively we can give our clients access to an oracle database for specific analysis. Invoices can be customized at consumer level and included in the shipment. We are licensed to print open invoices (cheques) for various European countries. Various other payment methods are supported too.

As we are able to communicate with the tracking & tracing systems of all major couriers, our clients can follow the status of their order continuously, from order entry till delivery at the final destination.

Efficient Sorting Systems

DOCdata has fully automated sorting systems. This enables us to process fast and accurately large numbers of shipments (each consisting of various items) per day. Because all products are automatically scanned on our sorting system, picking errors are prevented. At this moment we can process up to 20,000 shipments per day. For each individual order special actions can be initiated, like gift-wrapping or inclusion of extra information, specific manuals or promotional material (even T-shirts or caps). The sorted products are combined with the right invoice, packed and send by mail or courier all over Europe.
